Spotting the signs of Spring – celebrating our IIE status

It’s not breaking news that DE22 are the proud owners of a Green award from the Investors in the Environment scheme. In fact, it’s something we’ve been shouting loudly about since we achieved the accreditation in July 2017.

This Easter we wanted to celebrate our success and continue our commitment to the environment by getting up close with nature and taking a team walk around our local countryside. So, our awesome environmental champion, Claire, put all the arrangements into place, and finally, the day arrived.

We donned our funky wellingtons and set out on our 4-mile wilderness wander, which allowed us to identify all the first signs of spring blooming into life – daffodils, snowdrops, adorable tiny lambs… oh, and wet, sludgy mud.

Numerous stiles and thorny bushes later, we arrived at the wonderful Hackwood Farm for a well-deserved lunch and slice of cake.

All in all a perfect way to end our week before finishing for the bank holiday!
