What’s the story?

by | Jul 24, 2019

Instagram Stories are a fun way to grow engagement with your audience whilst building on your brand awareness. Not utilising this free feature, could be detrimental to the performance of your Instagram activity.

If you’ve ever thought about using Instagram Stories for business, but wasn’t sure on what to post, we’ve got you covered.

Here are some of the ways you can utilise Instagram Stories:

1/ Announcements

Due to the instant nature of Instagram Stories, they’re a great way of sharing exciting company announcements, from new products or service offerings to sales you may have on and even introducing new staff members.

Prior to this, you could start a countdown to generate even more interest and engagement as this will really capture the attention of your followers.

2/ Behind the Scenes & Sneak Peaks

Instagram Stories are also a brilliant opportunity to post behind the scenes footage of your business that wouldn’t typically appear on your main profile. These more personal insights allow you to convey a more human side of your business. This then allows your followers to get to know the business on a deeper level.

3/ Promote Your Business

Instagram Stories are a free way to promote your business, use it to your advantage!

There are so many ways you can promote your products or services through Instagram Stories, to name a few:

  • Sharing key features and benefits of your products or services
  • Reposting customers content of your products or if they’ve visited you i.e. had lunch at your café.
  • Sharing customer reviews, feedback and testimonials
  • Video your product in action
  • Promote your latest posts

Don’t overdo it though! Your stories may start to feel like a sales pitch which can deter your followers from engaging with you and even choose to unfollow you. So, it’s important to incorporate a variety of fun and interesting topics within your plan.

4/ Q&A

The question sticker made it possible for brands to invite their audience to ask them any questions, as well as ask their followers questions themselves.

This is a great feature for building a community and encourage customer interaction. Showing that your company cares about your customers opinions and being present to their answer questions, positions you as a reliable and human brand. This in return increases customer loyalty.
